Over the last year or so I’ve been writing regularly about the strong real estate market here in northern New Jersey. Working with home buyers on a daily basis, I’ve talked to more than a few people who aren’t necessarily convinced. I can understand if buyers take my information with a grain of salt, as I have a vested interest in the health of the market. So here’s independent proof of my prognostications from Bergen County’s most visible news source, The Record.
On January 5, reporter Kathleen Lynn wrote that New Jersey’s home prices are on the rise and that the housing recovery will continue into 2014. She quotes Jeffrey Otteau as saying home prices will rise 7% this year. He also states that the high number of backlogged foreclosures in NJ aren’t effecting Bergen County and that construction is on the rise.
