The Lawns is in the southeast corner of Ridgewood, bounded by Grove St to the north, Saddle River to the east and Sout Pleasant Ave to the west. Hawes Elementary School is located within the neighborhood.
Originally, all the homes in The Lawns area were built in the cape cod style for soldiers returning from World War II. Over the years, many of the homes have been expanded or rebuilt from the old foundation. Many are now in the colonial style.
