Glen Rock High School earns NJ’s #1 ranking from the Department of Education.

Glen Rock, NJ High SchoolThe NJ Department of Education started something new this past school year – they gave every school in the state a performance score based on standardized test results, chronic absenteeism and graduation rates for high schools.

Glen Rock High School earned the highest score among non-magnet public high schools. There are more than 300 non-magnet high schools in the state.

The school scores are part of NJ Department of Education’s report card system for its 2,105 schools. See the state’s compilation of data for the schools that interest you.

The website for Glen Rock School District and each of its schools is Glenrocknj.org.

Other Glen Rock schools also performed extremely well. Hamilton Elementary School scored in the 98th percentile. Glen Rock Middle School scored in the 95th percentile. And Central Elementary School scored in the 92nd percentile.

UPDATE: In September, New Jersey Monthly published it’s school rankings for 2018. Glen Rock High School was ranked #2 in the state, bested only by McNair Academic High School – a magnet school. New Jersey Monthly publishes the Top Public High Schools chart every two years. The chart is based on numerous factors, including student/teacher ratio; student participation in AP or International Baccalaureate classes; AP and SAT test results; and graduation rates.
