About Upper Saddle River, NJ
Upper Saddle River is a great place to live if you enjoy nature but still want to be within commuting distance of New York City. Its rolling hills, mature trees and 1-acre lots make it a popular destination for buyers looking for a substantial home. There are many new homes on the market in the price range of $1,500,000 to $3,000,000. There are also small homes on large lots (tear it down and build your own!) and an interesting assortment of expanded ranches and contemporaries. Upper Saddle River is more affordable than Saddle River to the south and less formal. Education is top-notch here, with high school students having the option of attending either Northern Highlands Regional (ranked #6 in the state by NJ Monthly Magazine) or Ramsey High School (ranked #13.) Upper Saddle River has its own Middle School for grades 6-8 (E. A. Cavallini Middle School) with a ten-star rating from GreatSchools.com. The Garden State Parkway and Route 17 flank Upper Saddle River making travel to the north or south quite simple. There's also an express commuter train station on Route 17 in nearby Ramsey that gets you into Hoboken or New York City.
