About Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ
Everyone who lives in Ho-Ho-Kus loves Ho-Ho-Kus. What used to be considered a place you retired to after living in Ridgewood has now become even more popular than its neighbor to the south. Home prices are higher now than in Ridgewood but taxes are more reasonable. Ho-Ho-Kus shares Northern Highlands Regional school with Allendale and Saddle River, which helps keeps taxes lower.
On the west side of Route 17 near the Ho-Ho-Kus business district you'll find mostly traditional colonials with pockets of split levels and bi-levels. The east side of Ho-Ho-Kus generally has larger homes on larger lots. The winding roads, beautiful homes, ponds and streams make for a wonderful place to take a Sunday drive.
As one of the smallest communities in Bergen County with a population of only 4,037, Ho-Ho-Kus is the kind of place where you know everyone's name. Ho-Ho-Kus has a commuter train station, making it a great place for young families leaving New York City to get started. Be sure to check out the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn which dates back to 1790 and The Hermitage, visited by General George Washington during the Revolutionary War. | |
